Description
Henry Cherrick, DDS, MSD, joined the College of Dentistry as dean in 1981, having previous served as dean of the School of Dentistry at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville from 1978-1981. While leading the college, Dr. Cherrick was also a consultant for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lincoln.
Dr. Cherrick received an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Florida-Gainesville in 1961, a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia in 1965 and was certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1968. He also received a Masters of Science in Dentistry from Indiana University-Indianapolis in 1970. Dr. Cherrick left the College of Dentistry in 1988 to go to the University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry where he served as dean until his retirement in 1995.
